Why YOU and your kiddo need a Yoto Player

Ever met me? Then you have probably heard me mention Montessori and Yoto players. They are both all about enabling kids to function at their own pace and in their own way. Yoto is a screen-free audio device that lets kids manage their own entertainment in a way that is fun and keeps parents happy. As a child, I spent hours with my read-along books and records (what up brown fisher-price!) or listening to the epic recordings that my sisters and I constantly made on cassette tapes.

Why the Yoto Player is not just another toy

  • Kids in Control: The Yoto player lets kids call the shots. They get the opportunity to make choices about what to listen to and independently act on those choices, BUT the adults get set what audio is available (and the options are basically endless). Yoto is all about freedom with limits.
  • Listen Up, No Screens Attached: With Yoto, there are no dynamic screens and kids focus purely on what they’re hearing, which is important for young brains. It’s all about engaging the ears, not the eyes. That means more imagination and less screen time and less overstimulation.
  • Always Something New: Whether it’s fiction, science, cool tunes, or jokes, the Yoto player has a bit of everything. Kids won’t get bored, and they’re always learning something new.
  • Real Perks for Parents:
    • Your kids can rock out while you scroll on Instagram and the noise from your reels (or your work call) won’t randomly interrupt their dance party.
    • Your kids can blast the music they want (within the limits that you set) through headphones in the car while listen to your own audio book in peace, or dare I dream, have an uninterrupted conversation.
    • Your grandmother can record herself reading Baking Day at Grandma’s and your child can learn to love her voice and you don’t have to read it… again.
    • Have your kids create their own soundtrack and let them listen to their favorite artist, themselves, on repeat for free and love every minute of them making their own audio time capsules with basically no effort on your part.
    • THE COST – There is a cost of purchasing the player and you can certainly (and happily) invest in cards or in Yoto Club but even if you purchased nothing more than what is provided in the box there is still ample content because of Yoto Radio, Yoto Daily, the ability to link to podcasts and the ability to put content on a rewritable Make Your Own card and one comes with every Yoto Player!

A Yoto Player is not just a cool toy or a Christmas Must Have, it is a tool that will transform life and your family will use for years. I see so much potential for its use ‘everywhere from a baby’s nursery to homes of the elderly. It is brilliant device and I cannot recommend them enough.

So, do you have a Yoto? How did you hear about it? What’s your favorite thing about it?
