Blaise is a fortunate fellow because we already have so many appropriate toys for him in our home, but here are a few items our Blaisey would love to see under the tree this year.

  1. Wagon Pull Toy: Small in size, this wagon so great for balance and walking practice since our man is on the move, but will be wonderful for open ended play for years to come.
  2. Knobbed Puzzle: I love the realistic and relatable images to this oversized knobbed puzzle. The curves make it a little more tricky than a classic shape puzzle. The animal images are fantastic and I LOVE the care of self images for increased familiarity but the price of the toy images can not be beat.
  3. Poke-a-dot Book: Do you have a poke-a-dot book? Get one, get 2. Get one for yourself. Get one for everyone you know. This one provides some great vocabulary and beautiful images as well as the satisfaction of bubble wrap in book form.
  4. Dukes Gear: Is this for Dad? Maybe, but we are tragically light on Dukes gear.
  5. Water Wow!: Blaise still mouths EVERYTHING. It makes things tricky but I am thinking that maybe these will allow him to participate in art without constant redirection.
  6. Animal Figurines: We have a HEALTHY amount of animal figurines but I think they are amazing for language development and open ended play. However, we have noticed that we are totally lacking in sea creatures. Perhaps some creatures will swim into the sleigh this year.
  7. Balance Beam: Blaise is not one to shy away from risky play. He loves the wobbleboard and is starting to experiment with the stepping stones. We currently have a “balance beam” set up of tape on the ground and Mimi likes it but Blaise does not seem to notice it and I don’t really blame him. A slightly elevated balance beam would provide a great opportunity for stepping, jumping and balance work.
  8. Folding Ball: I have no idea if this will be great or not but I would LOOOOOVE a ball that I can pack into the diaper bag or the stroller. What are your thoughts?

Bonus idea: there is one of these at Mimi’s school and Blaise is obsessed with it. Maybe one of our own would be smart.
